Most AI-generated writing on LinkedIn is terrible
I told these AI writing startup founders to their faces. Four months later, they built a tool I'm recommending.
I've avoided recommending AI writing tools in this newsletter, not because they don't exist, but because none of them were good enough.
Every tool I tested produced the same thing: generic hooks, em-dash-riddled paragraphs, and that unmistakable "AI wrote this" tone that makes you scroll past immediately. They could generate content, but they couldn't create it.
So when Ethan Monkhouse told me last September that he was building an AI content strategist for LinkedIn, I was skeptical. When he had me demo it, I told him straight: the tone was off, the posts felt generic, and the feedback I received on my writing was unnecessarily harsh.
I've generated 1.2 million impressions on LinkedIn over the past year, and I could tell the tool had no idea how the algorithm actually worked, just offering surface-level advice that wouldn't move the needle on post performance.

But I saw something in their vision. So instead of walking away, I kept testing and met with his co-founder Lola Nolan. And I gave them more brutal (but honest) feedback over the next four months.
Last week, they launched the new version, and it's a completely different product.
What Changed
The old version felt like every other AI writing tool — plug in a topic, get a forgettable post that is clearly AI.
The new version of Naviro does something I haven't seen before: it learns how you write, and prompts you for your own lived experience.
Here's how it works:
It studies your voice. Naviro analyzes your past posts to learn your opening patterns, closing CTAs, sentence cadence, and tone. You can even upload voice recordings so it captures how you actually speak — not how AI thinks a "professional" should sound.
It builds your strategy. Instead of generating one-off posts, it monitors your niche, follows your competitors' activity, and builds an actual content strategy. You stop writing random posts and start creating with intention.
It surfaces your angle. Before drafting anything, Naviro asks you questions to pull out your unique perspective. It's not writing for you — it's helping you figure out what you actually want to say, then structuring it in a way that performs.
The result is a system where you're in the driver's seat with data at your fingertips to create content that sounds like you — not content that sounds like it was generated by a robot trying to sound like you.
Not to mention the fact that it’s only getting better. They’re building a mobile app where you can brain dump content ideas and leave LinkedIn comments all via voice.
What I Created With It
I used Naviro to find a post format I hadn't tried before. It identified a pattern from a high-performing post on X outside of events and suggested I adapt it to my voice and topic.
That post did over 10,000 impressions.
Could I have found that format on my own? At some point, but Naviro surfaced it in minutes by analyzing what was already working, instead of having to trial-and-error it across 10 posts.
Why I'm Recommending This (And Why It Matters That I Haven't Before)
In 15+ issues of this newsletter, I've never done an affiliate recommendation for an AI tool. Not because I haven't been asked, but because I wasn't going to put my name behind something I didn't genuinely believe in.
This is different. I know Ethan and Lola personally and have been working with them for 4 months to make this better. I've watched them take feedback that most founders would ignore and actually rebuild the product around it.
Full transparency: I'm sharing my referral link below. I benefit if you sign up. But I'm sharing it because this is the first AI writing tool where I'm actively shifting my own workflow — moving from Claude to Naviro for content brainstorming and strategy.
Who This Is For (And Who It's Not For)
Use Naviro if:
You're building a personal brand on LinkedIn and want help creating content that actually sounds like you
You're posting inconsistently because you don't have a strategy — just random ideas when inspiration strikes
You want to understand what's working in your niche without manually stalking 20 competitors or spending two hours a day scrolling on LinkedIn
You're tired of AI tools that produce content you have to completely rewrite
Skip it if:
You're not on LinkedIn or X and don't plan to post regularly
You're looking for a "press button, get post" tool — Naviro requires your input and perspective
The content you create is an artistic expression of you - keep writing by hand!
Test it Yourself

PS: Have you found any other AI writing tools that are actually good? (And by good, I mean you don't have to fight them to stop using em-dashes and "it's not about X, it's about Y" in every sentence.) Reply and let me know.
